5.  Events

 

5.1  Men

100  M, 200 M, 400 M, 800 M, 1500 M,  5000 M, 5000 M  Walk, 

2000 M Steeplechase, 3000 M Steeplechase, 80 M Hurdles, 100 M Hurdles,

110 M Hurdles, 300 M Hurdles, 400 M Hurdles, 4 x 100 Relay, 4 x 400 Relay,

High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw,

and Javelin Throw.

 

5.2  Women

100 M, 200 M, 400 M, 800 M, 1500 M, 5000 M, 5000 M  Walk,

2000 M Steeplechase, 80 M Hurdles, 100 M Hurdles, 300 M Hurdles, 400 M Hurdles,

4 x 100 Relay, 4 x 400 Relay, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump,

Discus Throw, Hammer Throw, JavelinThrow, and Shot Put.

 

6.  Age  Groups

 

6.1  Male : M35, M40, M45, M50, M55, M60, M65, M70, M75, M80, M85, M90, M95

 

6.2  Female : F35, F40, F45, F50, F55, F60, F65, F70, F75, F80, F85, F90, F95

 

7.  Participants

 

7.1    There are no qualifying standards to enter the 15th Asia Masters Athletics Championships. Entrants, both male and female, must be 35 years or over by November 30, 2008.

 

7.2  The 15th Asia Master Athletics Championships will be conducted in accordance with the technical rules of the  IAAF, except as modified by the Rules of Competition of AMA.

 

7.3  Visually impaired competitors requiring attendants may participate in the Championships on condition that they make arrangements for their own attendants.

 

7.4  All entries from athletes in countries affiliated with AMA shall have their entries validated and submitted by forwarding them together with a photocopy of  the athlete’s birth certificate, identity card or passport (reflecting the athlete’s date of birth) to the Respective National Governing Body.

 

7.5  Each National Governing Body entering athletes to participate shall submit the name of the Team Manager and the Team Manager’s contact information, including email address.  The Team Manager will  liason with the AMA OC on matters related to the Team Manager’s team of athletes and officials.

 

7.6  Non-AMA-affiliated Entries: Entries from Asian countries not affiliated with AMA need not be validated and must be submitted directly to the 15th Asia Masters Athletics Championships Organizing Committee at the Rajamangala National Stadium prior to the closing date for entries together with a photocopy of the athlete’s birth certificate, identity card or passport (reflecting the athlete’s date of birth).

 

Entries must include the correct fee payment. No entry will be accepted without full payment. Photocopy of passport is required along with entry fee before bib number can be issued. If age submitted on the entry is incorrect, participation cannot be allowed in any age group and fee cannot be refunded, unless the error was made by the AMA OC. If an athlete whose entry has been accepted does not show up for competition, the team manager or authorised organisation shall pay US$ 5 to cover administration cost. Failure to cover payment of this administrative fee may result in withholding bib distribution for the team.

7.7    The AMA and the AMA OC reserve the right to refuse entries.

 

7.8    The closing date for all entries is August 31, 2008 . A late entry surcharge will be applied to new entries or changes posted after the closing date. Late entries can be posted until September 15. The completed entry forms must be posted to the AMA OC’s head office.

NOTE:

1. For accompanying persons who wish to join the banquet and opening ceremony, the charge is US$25 person due by September.15. The banquet will include northern style entertainment / shows. The banquet and opening ceremony will be November 30, 18:00, at a venue to be announced.

2. A relay team may mix age groups and competes in the lowest age group of the mix. A relay team cannot mix teams. A relay athlete competing in a lower age group for one relay team remains assigned to the lower age group for all relays. Entry of relay teams and payment of the Relay Event Fee may be handled by the team manager at the same time as individual entries. The deadline for registering relays is 12:00 noon, Dec. 4, the day prior to the relays.

8. Awards

 

8.1  The 1st to 3rd  place winners (Men and Women) will be awarded a medal respectively. The 1st to 8th  place will be awarded a certificate.

 

8.2    Every registered competitor will be awarded a souvenir.

 

9. Team Managers Meeting A Team Managers meeting will be held at 14.00 on November 30, 2008 at the Chiang Mai 700th Anniversary Sports Complex dormitory.

12. Drug Testing The AMA OC may conduct random doping/drug tests during the championships.

 

13. Interpretation  The AMA and the 15th AMA Championships Organizing Committee own sole interpretation of these regulations.

              The 15th Asia Masters Athletics Championships are open to all men and women born on or before

1st December 1968 who are fit for competition. Athletes will compete in 5–year age groups from 35 plus.
